TBR70: Passage à niveau

I should have noticed (as a graphic designer) that a logo of a bakery is unique and memorable, their breads are also worth to remember.

I had a friend to meet in Higashi Koganei today, which I got off the first time in this 14 years.

I've known her more than a couple of years. Today she brought husband and princess :-) Lovely to meet you two. We talked about this and that, and then the bread running. "There is some bakery nearby!" They took me to...

* Means a level crossing. Yap, they are located right next to it, which is covered with a paper bag.

"Hello!"

When I was taking pictures, suddenly a couple of patrons came in... I was squeezed out!

Our Princess Sakura with custard mellon-pan a le chat :-)
You can take a pick out of many faces which you fancy from a showcase.

well, there should be some custard cream was... somewhere!

They gave me a present, three Grains! THANK YOU!! But they torn off theirs and shared it with me! "You gotta have a bite of it while it's warm!" Yes, indeed!

It should last for a couple of days for even a bread runner... I guess!
Three grains are sunflower seeds, linseed, and white sesame.

Three steps? from JR Musashi-sakai Sta.

"Hey, the Bread Runner. You didn't run today!" Well, The Durfee's did a morning jogging for me today ;-p
Thank you very much for this information and your treat!

PS:
At breakfast of a following day. I torn 3-grains as The Durfee's recommended and will enjoy with Manuka honey. The black something in the back is burnt banana...

TBR69: otto pan

Today was a fine day and no bread at home, so I went out for bread running. My right knee is in good moon too (phew!).

Passing by an interesting exterior building...

そこはotto(オット)パンだった!
you'd see otto-pan (bread)!

...sorry, it won't be that close. I paid my full attention to my knee so didn't take many pictures this time.

The reason why they chose a name, otto-pan, is that when they had this bakery in Yutenji, there was a furniture shop called Kaki-hachi (eight) and imply suehirogari (The leg of a kanji of eight is spread toward to the end, which could be seen the future is wide open)

I went there before noon, but the most popular item, cream-pan (custard in a bread), was sold out.

"The first come, the first served."

I chose walnut an-pan.

So irresistible for an an-lover!

"It's substantial!" (from official website). Yap, it certainly was!

Mallon twist.

And tomato bread.
"No water added. Just juice of Italian tomato is used. You'd enjoy aroma of oregano and we highly recommend this as a regular bread at meal. You can also try it for sandwiches." (from official website)

About 5k? round trip.

PS: Found taiyaki-ya just around a corner from otto-pan.
I've never seen smily taiyaki before.

Seasonal taste: pumpkin pudding. They didn't miss caramel, wow.

race: Tanzawa Bokka Ekiden

Before I'm going to details, what is Bokka? Bokka is literally "you carry heavy things on your own back and walk to the final destination by foot." (from wikipedia)

Some puicture from official photo gallery.
What you carry at a race is gravel.

Run with carring gravel or walk...?

With carrying all those kind of gravels? (Actual gravels' appearance may vary... you'll see!)

Just came back from Seoul, Korea, for business. I visited an office of Korean Climbathon Federation one hour before I headed to an airport.

The nearest station is Sports Complex Station, Seoul subway line 2. They've built a wider platform for the sake of Summer Olympic in 1988.

In the south side of Han-gang.

There is a little explanation about peace sign by Korean people (at around 36 sec.), btw.

I met Mr. Lee Wong Gap, Representative Director of Songpa Life News.
He met Mr. Park at a race at the first time and since then they've known each other for a long time. He does trekking and trail running.

I didn't have much time, so I just wanted to say hi, but Mr. Park said "Would you like some bread?" Thank you very much for remembering that I'm a bread runner :-)

An office was under ground, but there is a bakery at ground floor. It was full of fresh bread aroma at stairs.

Thank you, Mr. Park.

We talked about some mountains which have easy access from Seoul. And trail running+something...!? I'll introduce it here when details are fixed.
