TBR46: Le Pain Quotidien

astavitaさんを取材の後、気になっていたパン屋さんまでひとっぱしり。

I did a quick TBR after an interview at astavita.

今日はこんな靴でしたが走ってみましたよ。実はNIKE AIR内蔵です：）

Today I run with this ballet shoes. In fact, this has NIKE AIR installed.

グルグルマップの指す通り、東京タワーを目指して坂を上ると

I run up at a hill toward to Tokyo Tower as Google map shows,

「反対側ですよ」とホテルの人に言われ、Uターン…（涙）

"It's on the other side" a hotel clerk said and I did U-turn...

ま、いい運動をしたと思って到着。

Well, let's think that I did extra good exercise for breads.

そう、昨年のパン・ラン in ニューヨーク。セントラルパークの西側ストロベリーフィールド近くの72ndストリート付近にあったパン屋のロゴと一緒！

Yes, The Bread Running in New York last year. One bakery near Strawberry Fields in Central Park near West Side Bakery on the 72nd street has a same logo!

入口を入ってすぐ右手には、オーガニックの原料で作られたパンが所狭しと並んでいます。

On the right side after entering at an entrance, there are many organic breads on a shelves.

一番人気はやはり食事パンで、焼き上がったはしからどんどん出ていってしまうとか。

The most popular one is regular bread like baguette. It's gone right after they put on a shelf.

パン ド ミは試食がありました。

There was a tasting pain de mie.

う〜ん、フカフカで優しい甘さ：）

Hmm, fluffy sweet and gentle:)

そして充実しているのがジャムやペースト、お茶、コーヒーなどパンと一緒に食べたいアイテムがたくさん。

And what is gorgeous about this bakery is a massive lineup of items which goes well with breads such as jam, paste, tea, coffee, etc.

入口の左側には、ガラス張りの調理スペースが。

At the left side of an entrance, you can see a cooking space.

あぁ、ベルギー出身のパン屋さんなのですね。

I didn't know that they are originally from Belgium.

増上寺を北向きに過ぎたら紺色のファサードがすぐ見えますよ。

You can see navy facade right after you pass Zojo-ji with going to the north.

へぇ、JR浜松町駅は1909年にできたんだ。

A-ha, JR Hamamatu-cho station was established in 1909.

こちらが今回のお買い上げ。

Here are what I chose at this TBR.

オーガニック小麦の全粒粉パン。バリッと割ると、フワッと香ばしい香りが。

Organic whole wheat bread. When I divided it by hands, nice aroma were in the air...

オーガニック小麦の五穀パン。生地にはヒマワリ・カボチャ・アマ・レーズン・白ごまにオーツ麦がトッピング。

Five grains and organic wheat bread. Its dough has sunflower, pumpkin, flax, raisin, white sesame, and oat was on a top.

ちょっと大回りな3.2km。

TBR16-X3: sandwiches at Starbucks

おや、NYネタがまだ残ってた。

I found something left about NY.

JFK空港でのスターバックスにて。

空港だからちょっと高いのかな？　サンドイッチ全般8ドル／ケ。

The reason why it's bit expensive is at an airport? USD8 for one sandwiches.

日本でもこれくらいガッツリしたサンドイッチを売って欲しいなぁ。

I wish Starbucks in Japan sold substantial sandwiches like them.

City: The High Line in ad

JR車内で見かけたこの広告。「ん、どこかで…」

I found this advert in a JR train. "I've seen this scenery somewhere before..."

あ、HIGH LINEですね。

Ah, High Line it is.

TBR21-X2: KFC

パン・ラン in NY 番外編ですが、すごいものを見つけてしまいました。

This is TBR in NY extra. I found something by chance.

サンドイッチとありますが、何とパン（バンズ）がありません…（汗）

It's called "sandwich" but no bread (bun) whatsoever...

これ書いてるだけでお腹いっぱいです…

I already feel full with writing this...

時間の関係で行けなかったベーグル屋さん、パン屋さんをば。

Their origin is in Tuscany in Italy.

地下鉄入口の看板に密かに緑色が見えているから4~6号線のどれかでしょうね…　多分。

I can see a green bit on a sign of subway so it should be one of line 4-6, I guess.

H&H BAGELS

なんでもWiki（こちらも何でも載っていますが）によると、一日に8万個のベーグルを作るらしいですよ！　で、映画「You Got Mail」とかにも出ている、と。トム・ハンクスが言うセリフ「夜にH&H Bagelsの地下に小麦粉を積み込むトラックがどうのこうの…」のくだりがそれです。

According to Wikipedia (this also does everything, doesn't it?), they produce 80,000 bagels A DAY! Also they are in a film "You Got Mail." The line by Tom Hanks is "every night a truck pulls up to H&H Bagels and pumps about a ton of flour into the ground? The air is absolutely amazing."
