item: let your mind take a walk

When coming to Maruzen today, "Asa dori no shiko (idea thought of in the morning)" written by Shigehiko Toyama.

I returned his another book to a city library without finishing it because renting time was up. Since then, I remember his name's kanji, especially Shigehiko part as a visual.

There is "Three strolls" episode in this book.
It introduces that he takes a walk in the early morning around the Imperial Palace, the foot stroll, the hands stroll (=writing down various information at random), and the head stroll.

He said "your head can take a walk more than 1000 miles at once."

Indeed… it's nice to let my mind take a walk or let my heart take a walk.
I'd like to have the new year with a calm mind after having such time in this hustle end of the year.

item: Shinshu miso-yaki rice ball

"Get charged with local foods" series.

Shinshu miso-yaki rice ball (rice ball grilled with miso paste spread).

"ingredients: rice, miso, sugar, mirin, salt, and cooking vinegar," that's it. It is good to have no synthetic seasoning in.

Miso spread outside was quite strong, so having white rice part inside was just fine. It has salt too so that it might be good to have it at an aid station.

TBR16-X3: sandwiches at Starbucks

I found something left about NY.

Starbucks at JFK airport.

The reason why it's bit expensive is at an airport? USD8 for one sandwiches.

I wish Starbucks in Japan sold substantial sandwiches like them.

btw, I often think that it would be fun to have someone like a plant doctor when I do trail running. It'd be so cool if he/she answers that "They are a family of XXX and XXX" right away.

item: laundry

There was something delighted the other day so I couldn't help running around the Imperial Palace in woolly sweater (!).

I use this jacket daily in town even this is for a mountain use. I thought it's better to wash it because I sweated heavily. Actually, this is the third time though.

Patagonia site has how to do laundry their items.

Following icons, I used 30C warm water.

Just a little detergent.
I wanted wash sweat away so I didn't close fastener nor velcro tape, which is against what Patagonia or mont•bell recommend.

Rinse time. Changed water and wash out detergent as much as I could.

More to rinse.
"Weak" was strong with my washing machine, so I used only a water tank and rinse it by hands.

Done!

I checked out an inner shirt for running outside in this season. It was a tough a choice between thin wool and chemical material, so couldn't make up my mind after all.

TBR35-1: UrDinkel at Coop Pronto

Just received a report from Correspondent S in Switzerland! S is The Bread Cyclist, btw.

Bread I picked up at a mini-mart was three bucks and looks tasty!

One of delighted things about living in Switzerland is that you can get good breads at a regular supermarket. You have to go to a special bakery in Tokyo to get such breads, but it's available at small stores like combini here in Switzerland.

I bought this at Coop Pront. Coop and MIGROS are bigger supermarkets in Switzerland and Coop Pront is Coop's combini version. They open until 23:00 but that's rare in here Switzerland.

Good breads are easily available around you? Gee, I'm jealous!

The logo on a bread shows that this bread is made of spelt which was produced in Switzerland.

The shop locator is in four languages, German, French, Italian, and English. This store must be in Switzerland!

For instance, you'll find it at near this station.

So, if you feel like to have a good bread while traveling in Switzerland, why don't you drop by a supermarket near your hotel.
