今日も暑いですね。

It's another hot day today!

It's near 30C in many cities.

各地で30度近くの気温を記録しています。

あら東京は沖縄より暑いんですね。

Looks like Tokyo is hotter than Okinawa.

これからの季節、走る時に日焼け止めを忘れると大変なことになりますね。

It'd be disaster if you forget to put sunscreen in this hot weather when running.

私も一度、顔や足に気をとられ、腕を塗り忘れて、えらいことになりました。その時に薬局で勧められたのがこちら。

Two Summer ago or so I paid too much attention to put sunscreen on face and legs, then totally forgot about arms. As you imagine, it wasn't fun at all as a result. I rushed into my local pharmacy and they recommended them.

小林製薬「ヒリピタクール」とエーザイ「アロエ99」。

"Hiripita (=stopping burning) cool" and "Aloe 99."

氷でアイシングとこの2品は私にはかなり効き目がありました。ヒリピタクールは製造中止になりましたが、それ以来アロエ99はいつも救急箱に常備しています。

Icing and using both really worked. Hiripita cool is no longer produced. But Aloe 99 is in my medical kits box since then.

Run+flower: hydrangeas

そろそろアジサイの季節ですね。

It's about time to appreciate hydrangeas.

街を走っていても、色とりどりのアジサイをあちこちで愛でることができます。

You can enjoy various coloured hydrangeas here and there.

紫色の発色にはブルーベリー等にも含まれるアントシアニンが関係しているそうですが、「アジサイはなぜ七色に変わるのか?―花の色の不思議を科学する」（武田幸作、PHP研究所）で詳しく解説されています。

This purple is made of anthocyanins which is also included in blueberries for instance and "why hydrangea changes in seven colors—the scientific wonders about the colour of the flowers" Kousaku Takeda, PHP Research Institute explains in details.

自分の足で街を移動すると、好きなところでパッと止まれるからいいですね。この間もバス停の雨よけに設置されているこんな広告に気づきました。

One of good things about moving around in town with my own feet is you can stop wherever and whenever you'd like. I noticed this ad at the bus stop the other day.

東京都内のいろいろな街の紹介で、東京都交通局の広告です。

This ad is an introduction of various sightseeing places in Tokyo, sponsored by Bureau of Transportation, Tokyo Metropolitan Government.

えぇ、私も走ってパン屋情報を集めていますよ：）

Yes, I'm also running too. For the sake of good bread :) (The ad says "I collected them with running in Tokyo.")

ちなみにこういった雨よけは上屋（うわや）と呼ぶそうですね（工事現場の雨よけもそう呼ぶらしいですが）。

btw, these shed rain is called uwaya (The one at a construction site is also called so).

この上屋広告は、フランス・リヨンで1964年に誕生したJCDecaux（ジェーシードゥコー）社がStreet Furniture（ストリート・ファニチャー）事業の1つとして展開しているものです。そのJCDecaux社と三菱商事が設立したMCDecaux（エムシードゥコー）社によって日本国内での展開が進められています。2003年、岡山市内への設置が第1号でした。

This "uwaya ad" has been produced by French company JCDecaux, which was established in Lyon in 1964, and this is one of street furniture business. JCDecaux and Mitsubishi Corporation have launched MCDecaux and MCDecaux does this ad series with uwaya in Japan. The first uwaya ad in Japan was seen in Okayama in 2003.

驚いたのはJCDecaux社およびMCDecaux社が製造から納品後のケアまで長期間に渡り無償で行っている点です。広告料収入により完全独立採算型事業として成り立っているのですね。

I was surprise to know that not only JCDecaux and MCDecaux won't charge anything to bus company for this but also they take care of its maintenance for a long period for free. The advertising revenue covers everything.

忘れてた！

これがハーフマラソンコース上にあったマンホール、八海山とスイカ。

そう言えば、フードコートにもすいかゼリーも売ってました。

Forgot to add this one earlier.

The arty manhole lid in a half marathon course: Mt. Hakkaisan and water mellon.

I saw water mellon jelly in the food court too.

これでアートなマンホールは広島、横浜について3つ目ですね。

This is the third arty manhole lid I introduced after Hiroshima and Yokohama.

日暮れが迫り、バスに乗ろうかと思ったら週末は17時台で終わり…

I'm chased by the sunset, so thought to take a bus but it ends at 17:00 weekend...

危うく知らない人の車をヒッチハイクする衝動にかられたり…

Almost tried to hitchhike... (The right sign said "Do not get in a stranger's car.")

あまりに焦りすぎて50円に見えました（…ごめんなさい、嘘です）。

I was so in hurry so that thought this car is sold at 50yen (... Sorry, I lie)

ま、ちょっと魔法の絨毯を使って（エヘヘ）何とか閉店の19:30前に到着！

Well, with help of a little magic carpet (hehe) I got there somehow before their closing at 19:30!

店名にも入っているメロンパンが一番おススメ商品。

上に砂糖なしのメロンパンはよく考えれば初めてです。サンライズで育った私には新しい食感でした。しっとりさが結構好きですネ：）

Their most popular one is melon-pan, which is in a shop name.

I think this is the first time to see melon-pan without sugar on it. For me who was growing up with Sunrise, it is a new experience. I liked the moistness.
